PowerballHow to Win the Jackpot

The next Powerball drawing is on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 10:59 PM ET. The jackpot is an estimated $49 million, with a cash value of $22.2 million.

To play Powerball, you need to select five numbers between 1 and 69 for the white balls, and one number between 1 and 26 for the red Powerball. You can choose your own numbers, or you can let the lottery terminal randomly pick your numbers for you.

Tickets cost $2 per play, and you can add the Power Play option for an extra $1. Power Play can multiply your non-jackpot winnings by two, three, four, five, or ten times.

The Powerball jackpot grows until it is won. Players win a prize by matching one of the 9 ways to win. The jackpot is won by matching all five white balls and the Powerball.

  • Form a lottery pool with friends or family. This can increase your chances of winning since you’ll be buying more tickets.
