Apple has confirmed that it is working on a fix for the overheating issues that have been reported by some iPhone 15 users. The company says that a software update, iOS 17.1, will be released soon to address the problem.
Apple also says that some third-party apps, such as Instagram, Uber, and Asphalt 9, may be contributing to the overheating issues. The company is working with these app developers to fix the problem.
Apple has also confirmed that the iPhone 15’s hardware design is not responsible for the overheating issues. This means that there is no need to reduce the performance of the device in order to fix the problem.
In the meantime, Apple is recommending that users be aware of the USB-C power adapters that they use to charge the device. Chargers larger than 20W can cause the iPhone to temporarily heat up while charging.
Here are some additional tips to help prevent your iPhone 15 from overheating:
- Avoid using your iPhone in direct sunlight or in hot environments.
- Close any apps that you are not using.
- Reduce the brightness of your screen.
- Turn on Low Power Mode.
- Avoid charging your iPhone while you are using it.
If you notice that your iPhone is overheating, stop using it immediately and let it cool down. If the overheating persists, contact Apple support.
