Aakhri Sach Review: A Spine-Chilling Investigation Into a Bizarre Case of Mass Suicide
The new Disney+ Hotstar web series Aakhri Sach is a spine-chilling investigation into the bizarre case of mass suicide by 11 members of a family in Burari, Delhi, in 2018. The series stars Tamannaah Bhatia as Anya, the investigating officer who is tasked with unravelling the mystery behind the deaths.
The series begins with the discovery of the bodies of the 11 family members, all of whom have been found hanging from the ceiling of their home. There is no sign of forced entry, and the family’s belongings are untouched. The police are baffled, and Anya is called in to investigate.
Anya quickly realizes that this is no ordinary case. The family members had all written suicide notes, but their contents are strange and cryptic. They all refer to a “Supreme God” who had instructed them to kill themselves. Anya begins to suspect that there is a cult involved, but she has no way to prove it.
As the investigation progresses, Anya uncovers more and more disturbing secrets about the family. She learns that they were all deeply involved in a religious sect and that they had been following the instructions of a self-proclaimed guru. Anya also learns that the family had been experiencing financial difficulties and that they were under a lot of stress.
As Anya gets closer to the truth, she puts herself in danger. The cult members are determined to silence her, and they will stop at nothing to protect their secrets. Anya must race against time to solve the case and bring the cult to justice.
